These cleaning businesses are dedicated to conducing their businesses in an honest, courteous, professional manner.

• The cleaning business referred to you carries theft & damage coverage for your home valued at up to $1,000.00 (Theft pay only upon conviction.)
• The cleaning business referred to you will not work for you privately; to do so would constitute a breach of contract, would be dishonest toward the agency and would cancel the theft & damage coverage.
• Payment for services may be paid in cash or a check may be written to Sunny Maids Referral Agency Trust Account.
• The cleaning businesses registered with Sunny Maids Referral Agency have stated that they do pay their own taxes and liability insurances.
• The cleaning businesses' prices range from a base hourly rate of $16.50 to $25.50 with usually a three (3) hour minimum. If you need cleaning supplies, they are provided by your cleaner and prices range from $5 to $10 for a general clean, $45 for move-out cleaning or specialty cleaning.
• Remember to make all changes for additional services through our agency office. Remember all claims for accidental damage must be submitted within ten days of the job date. It is the agency’s responsibility to report any changes in job dates and job accidental breakage for your liability coverage and to monitor the income for 1099 tax purposes.

Due to several inquiries about tax responsibilities for housecleaning, we are enclosing this helpful information so you can understand when you may have tax responsibility.

• Sunny Maids is a referral agency. We provide services to you in the capacity of an "Agent." Sunny Maids is not the employer of the domestic housecleaning businesses we refer.
• Sunny Maids only refers cleaning persons who privately own their own business and who state that they pay their own taxes & liability insurances.
• You may be interested to know that a consumer/homeowner could have tax responsibility if they hire a person who is not in business for themselves and who does not generally work cleaning homes (e.g., a neighbor). A tax responsibility could also arise as a result of the relationship they might have. If the consumer gives the cleaner a job order this is an acceptable non-tax relationship, however, if the consumer directs and controls the manner and means by which the worker performs their work, they could have employer responsibilities, including employment taxes and workers' compensation, under state and federal law. Your responsibility is to give a job order, without having to explain how to do the job. A professional cleaner should already know how to clean. Again, Sunny Maids only refers cleaning persons who privately own their own business and pay their own taxes and liability insurances.
